Originally from Provo, UT, Colby made his way to Salt Lake City to pursue studies at the University of Utah. Playing a crucial role in operations at Contender, he focuses on managing inventory and facilitating the transfer of shop goods between locations. Beyond his work, Colby brings a unique adventurous spirit, as he once lived in a shipping container in a rural village in Uganda for two months, showcasing his resilience and cultural exploration.

Hailing from Glen Head, NY, Ed D. ventured to Salt Lake City in 2004 to pioneer the Medicare health insurance market for Humana. With a remarkable career spanning over 20 years, he retired in 2020 and seamlessly transitioned into a key role on our service writing team at Contender. Ed D. brings not only professional expertise but also a rich family life and a passion for adventure, evident in his 2 kids, 2 dogs, and an impressive collection of 11 bicycles.

A Salt Lake City local, Cody stands as one of Contender's seasoned veterans, bringing his expertise to the sales department as a cherished team member. Once a road riding aficionado, he now mostly sticks to mountain biking, often accompanied by his trusty furry sidekick, River. Known affectionately as "Wigz" by everyone at Contender, a nickname that stuck and originated right within the team, Cody adds a dash of camaraderie and familiarity to the workplace.

Originating from the lively city of Boulder, Colorado, Anders ventured to Salt Lake City enticed by top-tier skiing and newfound biking adventures. A dedicated enthusiast of downhill mountain biking, he fearlessly tackles the exhilarating descents of Utah's terrain. As a valuable member of Contender's sales department, Anders not only promotes his love for biking but also assists others in discovering their ideal ride. Balancing work and play, Anders dives into communication studies at the University of Utah, showing that he's all about mixing serious smarts with a love for the great outdoors.

Hailing from the sun-soaked landscapes of Northern California, TJ has seamlessly blended his love for city living with Utah's captivating outdoor allure. As a valued member of Contender's service department, he not only fine-tunes bikes but also fosters a vibrant cycling community. TJ's passion for mountain and gravel biking transforms ordinary trails into exhilarating adventures across Utah's diverse terrain. Beyond the bike shop, he unveils his competitive prowess as a pool shark and indulges his wanderlust through the liberating pursuit of bikepacking.

Elijah, originally from Moab, traded the red rocks for the city lights, making the move to Salt Lake from Colorado in search of a change of scenery. As a thrill-seeker on two wheels, he's all about enduro and downhill rides. In the hustle and bustle of Contender, Elijah plays a crucial role in the service department, ensuring bikes are in top-notch condition for every adventure. Whether navigating rocky terrains or fine-tuning bikes, Elijah brings his passion for cycling to both work and play.

Originally from Syracuse, New York, Tyler made the jump to Salt Lake City a year ago. Since then, he's been an integral part of Contender's sales team, bringing a positive vibe and a helpful attitude. Tyler's all about biking, whether it's hitting the roads, tackling gravel trails, or diving into enduro rides. He just loves the whole cycling scene! And when he's not on the bike, you'll likely find him enjoying a good cup of coffee...or five.

Kristin, a Utah native based in Salt Lake City, is the steady force behind the scenes in Contender's operations department. Since 2009, she's chosen a two-wheeled commute, embodying a commitment to both sustainability and a healthy lifestyle. Outside of the office, Kristin finds her balance by enjoying rounds of golf, camping, and exploring the great outdoors. She's also a big fan of bluegrass music and tries to catch some live music whenever she can.

Hailing from Millcreek, UT, Will is currently immersed in the world of psychology at the University of Utah. By day, he brings his insights to the sales department at Contender. Beyond academics and work, Will finds his thrill in the great outdoors, whether it's conquering trails on his mountain bike or carving through snow on skis. His love for adventure spills over into climbing, turning every outdoor moment into a chance for some good old excitement

Hailing from Boise, Idaho, Reid made the move to Salt Lake City to dive into Operations and Supply Chain Management at the University of Utah. Beyond the academic hustle, you'll find Reid conquering the trails on his mountain bike, showing off his love for all things cycling. At Contender, he brings his expertise to the sales department, merging business savvy with a genuine passion for bikes. And in those rare moments away from books and the shop, Reid's either shredding the slopes or casually cruising on a unicycle – because why not add a bit of flair to life?

Dave, a Pennsylvania native, made the leap to Utah to study health policy and psychology at the University of Utah. Outside the classroom, he embraces the adrenaline of cross-country biking and criterium racing. Dave brings his joyous spirit to the sales floor at Contender, spreading his love for bikes with every customer he meets. During his downtime, he swaps textbooks for rocks, diving into his love for climbing.

Meet Andrew F., a Salt Lake City local and a finance and commercial real estate student at the University of Utah. When he's not hitting the books, you'll likely find him tearing up cross-country biking trails or contributing his skills to the operations department at Contender. In his free time, Andrew enjoys the thrill of skiing and unwinding by playing the guitar. Living life with a perfect blend of academic focus and outdoor passion, Andrew embodies the spirit of a true local adventurer.

Originally from Arizona, Andrew G. has spent most of his life in Salt Lake, where he pursued his studies at the University of Utah. Passionate about cycling, he predominantly enjoys mountain and cyclocross riding, occasionally venturing into the world of gravel. Andrew brings his skills to Contender's operations department, and loves snowboarding and skateboarding in his free time.

Meet Hayden, a Utahn through and through, hailing from South Jordan. Juggling studies in business at the University of Utah and making moves in Contender's sales department, he's got that perfect blend of brains and adventure. Outside of school and work, you'll find Hayden tearing up mountain biking trails – the wilder, the better. Oh, and he's got a soft spot for orange juice; considering it his preferred energizer during busy days.

Jared, originally from Orange County, California, made his way to Salt Lake City to pursue a degree in health and kinesiology at the University of Utah. A valuable member of Contender's sales team, he is passionate about enduro mountain biking and loves a good adrenaline rush. Outside of the shop, Jared enjoys snowboarding, skiing, playing pickleball, and a good round of golf.

Albert hails from Highland, Utah, and is pursuing a double major in ballet and biology with a focus on anatomy and physiology at the University of Utah. Working in Contender's service department, Albert has a love for road biking and particularly enjoys scenic rides up Emigration Canyon during the fall. Off the bike, he shares his home with a cat named Concrete and has a talent for playing the piano.

Ezra grew up in Holladay, UT, and currently works on the web team at Contender Bicycles, focusing on marketing. An avid cyclist, he enjoys riding all types of bikes on various trails and roads but has a deep love for mountain bikes. In the spring of 2023, Ezra rode down the West Coast from Canada to Mexico. In the winter, he spends his free time snowboarding.

Kellor grew up in Salt Lake City, UT, and is currently pursuing his master's in Finance from the University of Utah. He works on the web team at Contender Bicycles. In his spare time, Kellor enjoys rebuilding old bicycles. Scuba certified, Kellor also completed a deep-water expedition off the coast of Thailand.
