By introducing a ball and socket design, Spherical Technology manages impact forces with two layers of impact absorbing material to take the brunt of any impact and spread it around the head to minimize direct damage. This, in addition to MIPS, makes a significant difference.

Ball and socket design means the outer layer of compressed foam protection rotates just a little bit. If you take a spill and your helmet strikes a rock, a tree or the ground, the outside of the helmet moves a few millimeters, spreading that energy and force away from the point of impact and around the head.

Neato, isn’t it? Added protection without compromising comfort, style, ventilation or weight.

The Helio Spherical helmet is one of two road helmets in Giro’s offerings. With 15 Wind Tunnel vents providing superb air flow around and through the helmet, you’ll be kept cool and dry during your ride - after all, being comfortable is almost as important and being safe.
