Its knob height sits between the Minion DHR II and Shorty, offering a perfect balance for versatile performance. The center knobs are ramped on the leading edge, reducing rolling resistance, while a small transitional knob between the center and side knobs ensures smooth, predictable cornering. Whether tackling slippery roots or rocky terrain, the Assegai delivers consistent traction.

Developed as World Cup Champion Greg Minnaar’s signature tire, it features the 3C MaxxGrip compound, using Maxxis’ stickiest, slow-rebounding rubber for maximum grip on challenging trails. The DoubleDown (DD) casing combines two lightweight 120 TPI layers with a butyl sidewall insert for durability and enhanced trail feedback, offering a balance between sturdiness and responsiveness. The Wide Trail (WT) construction optimizes the tread layout on modern wider rims, designed for a 35mm inner width for superior handling.
