Product Details
Orbea’s latest release, the 2025 Orca, is a remarkable evolution in road bike design, crafted specifically for those who crave the ultimate climbing machine. While many bikes on the market cater to specific needs like aerodynamics or endurance, the new Orca is dedicated to delivering an exceptional climbing experience. This 7th-generation model is meticulously designed for superior power transfer, agile handling, effective vibration damping, and an impressively lightweight build.
Celebrating two decades of Orca innovation, this latest version achieves its climbing prowess through advanced engineering. By minimizing overlaps in the carbon frame layup and carefully shaping the frame to eliminate unnecessary material accumulation, Orbea has managed to keep the weight down without sacrificing strength. The design process includes selecting components that complement this lightweight ethos, such as the OC Performance cockpit and the newly developed Oquo wheels. Each detail, from paint to frame hardware, is handled at Orbea's Basque Country headquarters, ensuring precise control over what affects the bike’s overall weight.
However, lightweight alone does not guarantee performance. The Orca is engineered with a focus on delivering a superb stiffness-to-weight ratio, responsive handling, and quick acceleration. Its slightly shorter chainstays enhance maneuverability, while the rounder tube shapes are designed to absorb vibrations, reducing rider fatigue and improving comfort on varied terrains. Additionally, the bike offers up to 32mm tire clearance, providing versatility for different riding conditions and enhancing overall ride quality.
Aerodynamics are not the primary focus of the Orca, but Orbea has thoughtfully integrated aerodynamic features where they can enhance performance without compromising weight or ride quality. The "ICR" cable routing system minimizes drag, and the new seat clamp mechanism is designed to reduce surface area and improve aerodynamics. With the M35i variant featuring the "OMR" carbon frame, a 12-speed Shimano 105 Di2 drivetrain, and Oquo wheels, the 2025 Orca blends Orbea’s rich heritage with cutting-edge technology, offering a harmonious blend of timeless aesthetics and modern performance.
