Product Details
The Zipp 303 XPLR SW Tubeless 700c Wheelset is designed to meet your most ambitious gravel riding goals. This wheelset stands out as the fastest in gravel riding, thanks to its ultra-wide rim that perfectly integrates with approved gravel racing tires. Unlike typical gravel wheels, which are often modified road wheels focused on stiffness and weight, the 303 XPLR SW takes a unique approach by addressing the challenges of gravel riding head-on.
Zipp's Total System Efficiency is tailored specifically for gravel riding, mitigating the resistance and vibrations that slow you down on rough terrain. The wide rim profile increases air volume, allowing for lower tire pressures without sacrificing stability, thus enhancing grip in corners and traction on climbs. Additionally, the seamless transition between the rim and gravel tires improves aerodynamic efficiency, helping you maintain speed with less effort.
Despite its robust design, the 303 XPLR SW remains lightweight, ensuring that you stay fast and comfortable on long rides. The wheelset is compatible with a variety of driver bodies, including XDR, SRAM/Shimano, and optionally, Campagnolo N3W (sold separately). The ZR1 DB hub, engineered in Germany, offers enhanced durability and quick response with 66 points of engagement, complemented by a center-locking rotor interface.
With a maximum tire pressure of 50 psi (3.45 bar) and the ability to run pressures below 30 psi (2.1 bar) for added comfort, the 303 XPLR SW delivers superior performance on challenging gravel surfaces. The wheelset ships with 12mm front and rear end caps and is backed by a lifetime warranty. Please note, the 303 XPLR SW is only compatible with approved tires, such as the Goodyear XPLR Slick and Goodyear XPLR Inter, which are specifically optimized for this wheelset.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- Zipp hookless rims are not suitable for tires that need a minimum pressure greater than 5 bar (73 psi). Always adhere to the tire manufacturer's specified minimum pressure, which is indicated on the tire itself. Zipp's hookless wheel and tire systems should never be inflated beyond 5 bar (73 psi).
- If equipped with tubeless beads, wider gravel tires running at lower pressures generally work well with hookless rims. However, if you're uncertain, it's best to consult the tire manufacturer for guidance.
- Zipp hookless rims are intended solely for use with tubeless or tubeless-ready tires. While inner tubes can be used, the tires must feature tubeless beads to ensure secure fitment.
- Zipp hookless wheels adhere to industry standards for tire retention dimensions. Tire compatibility with these standards is determined by the tire manufacturer. Zipp works closely with tire makers and participates in ISO and ETRTO committees to establish and refine global standards for tubeless road tires.
- Any tubeless tire meeting these international standards should be compatible. However, tire manufacturers have the authority to specify which of their products are compatible with hookless rims.
