Beautiful Bicycle - Orbea Gain M20i - An Ocean of Technology

There is a lot of love in the bike world right now. Technology is better than ever, making bikes easier to ride and more accessible to a wider range of riders. And while this Orbea Gain might look like another tech-forward road bike like all the others, this packs a bit of extra power in the form of a lightweight drive unit and battery. Yes, its an e-bike.

There is a lot to the bike past its striking good looks and ice green paint.

The Gain, recently revamped for 2021, finds itself refreshed and all for the better. Reach and stack, numbers responsible for rider positioning, have been rehashed to place the rider in a more comfortable, endurance-driven position. The wheelbase too is slightly longer with a lower bottom bracket, again falling in line with the more comfort-centric goals of the new Gain. And while this new Gain and the previous bike both tout tire clearance for 700c x 40mm tires, this new one does it with just a bit more clearance for grime.

There are a lot of things that make the Gain feel like it's from the future. The integrated and completely-hidden cable routing is straightforward. But it is the integrated lights, tucked into the computer mount and seatpost clamp area, that feel like a wise choice. It gives the bike a presence unlike anything else, that's for sure.
