The Campagnolo EKAR 13-speed groupset introduces a significant new feature: a quicklink-style chain link option, designed specifically for gravel riding. While this feature isn't new to the market, Campagnolo's engineers in Vicenza, Italy, have long held that a properly driven and peened chain pin is the safest and most reliable way to connect a chain. As a result, the addition of the C-Link for the EKAR 13-speed chain represents a major shift for the brand.
The 13-speed C-Link is crafted from the same high-tensile-strength C67 NiCrMo2 steel and nickel surface treatment as the outer links of the EKAR chain. To use it, you simply need an approved chain tool for C13 use to cut the full-length chain to your desired size and attach the reusable C-Link like any other quicklink-style system. You do not need the new 13-speed Campagnolo chain tool, only one approved for driving a C13 pin out. It is recommended to reuse the link only once after the initial installation and always use a new C-Link when installing a new EKAR 13 chain.
